Model and actress angrily denies playing a part in the sporting scams.
A Bollywood actress was left fuming after accusations that she was involved in cricket match-fixing.
Nupur Mehta is considering legal action after newspapers alleged that the starlet was used to lure cricketers into the scams.
An investigation, carried out by the Sunday Times, claimed that bookies in India had used an unnamed Bollywood starlet to seduce cricketers into the scandals.
The article had an image of Nupar printed alongside it, which resulted in many Indian newspapers running stories linking her to the alleged rumours.
The model, who starred in two films, told reporters in Mumbai, “I’m very much hassled and mentally traumatised. I never thought my name would crop up in these kind of allegations when I have nothing to do with it. I have no relation with it.”
“Yes I am a cricket lover as most of us are. It’s a religion in our country. I like to see most of the matches, and not only cricket I love all kinds of sports for that matter. I love football. I love tennis.
“I have no clue why my name is being tossed up with these allegations.”
A Delhi bookmaker told reporters that woman were often used to persuade cricketers to work for bookies.
