Those looking to treat their loved ones to box full of truffles, may benefit from paying Khadija Osman’s shop or website a visit.

The 18-year-old, who lives in Highfields inLeicester, has recently set up her business, Chocolate Loves Chocolate.

The plucky entrepreneur set up the firm four months ago, using a £1,700 loan from charity The Prince’s Trust.

She produces hand-made chocolate for special occasions such as weddings and baby showers and is currently negotiating with corporate businesses about the chances of stocking her treats.

The business also caters to vegetarians, offering a wide range of vegan products.

Speaking about the success of her business, Miss Osman told reporters, “It’s been amazing, things are going really well and we were very busy.”

Miss Osman learned how to make chocolate with her mother after a back injury which left her housebound for several months.

The incident came after she decided to drop out of Wyggeston and Queen Elizabeth I College inLeicesterto set up her own business.

After recovering from her back injury, Miss Osman applied for work experienced with award-winning chololatier Tom Phillips, from Hannah’s Chocolate, at his shop in Quorn.

She added that she “learned so much” from Tom Phillips and that he taught her “lots of tricks of the trade.”

Miss Osman used the Prince’s Trust loan to buy equipment, as well as to set up a website and rent and furnish premises in Beaumont Leys.

She added, “I wanted to be as careful with that money as if it was my own and I’m reinvesting the profits back into the business.”
