Brutally killed by her parents, body disposed off in the river which was found after five months, totally decomposed that even pathologists can’t find anything in post mortems, just 17 years old at that time, Shafilea Ahmed is asking for Justice. Justice that could bring her life back in this world; Justice that could bring her back to her school; Justice that could bring her back to her friends; Justice that could bring her back to the people who actually loved her; Or  justice that atleast can justify her murder. Can any one believe that parents can kill their children to whom they give birth? To whom they love, to whom they taught what is good and what is evil? Of-course not. Then who killed Shafilea? Why she was murdered? Was she murdered because she was too westernized? Because she disobeyed her parents to marry with their choice of person, or she was murdered just because she was a helpless girl?  Is any one of these reasons are enough to justify a murder of any person?

Initially when the case was opened, Farzana Ahmed, mother of Shafilea had claimed that noting had happened like she and her husband killed their daughter. But recently in the court room she admitted that she had witnessed her husband attacking Shafilea at the family home in Warrington, Cheshire. Farzana alleges that her husband told her that if she spoke to anyone or told anyone anything that he would “do the same to our other children and to you”. Both Farzana and her husband, Iftikhar, have been on trial since May accused of murdering their 17-year-old daughter. Both have pleaded not guilty. The jurors were told they would be given Mrs. Ahmed’s new defense case statement later on that would provide more details of her account.
