Q: How did your role in Ajj De Ranjhe come about?
A: I have worked with Mr Manmohan Singh before, so we have a good working rapport. He wrote the script for Ajj De Ranjhe, and within it he penned a role for a police inspector. When he was shortlisting possible actors, I came to his mind as someone who would be good to play this character, and it all happened from this point. 
Q: Tell us about your role in Ajj De Ranjhe?
A: I play a police inspector who is battling against the system and bureaucracy. He desperately wants to be a role model for young people, but is trapped by expectations and the demands of those close to him. The film follows his journey and how he breaks the mould and escapes the system.
Q: How does Ajj De Ranjhe blend comedy and drama?
A: Comedy is the best medium to say serious things. Otherwise, a film can be accused of preaching and no one wants to be preached at when they go to see a film. This film sugar coats a serious and important message.
Q: What was it like working with Manmohan Singh?
A: Manmohan Singh is my mentor in the film industry. I did my first film with him and have not looked back since. I have learnt so much from him, like how to control my acting and how to add subtlety to my comic performances. Manmohan Singh is the Godfather of the Punjabi film industry!
Q: Do you see yourself moving away from comedy roles and Punjabi cinema?
A: Comedy is my first love and I will also move towards this. It can never get boring, as there are so many different varieties of comedy. I would, in fact, like to do more comedy roles. I have a new film coming out shortly – so watch this space!. In regards to my career in the Punjabi film industry, all I can say is that this is my passion and where my heart lies. I’m destined for Punjabi film!
Q: What message do you have for your fans regarding Ajj De Ranjhe?
A: Ajj De Ranjhe is a film for the masses. It is also a very youth-orientated film and focuses on the young. We should therefore understand their capabilities and skills and harness this. Youth will drive our society forward in the future and so we should put our trust and faith in them.
