Three men have been arrested this morning from across Birmingham as part of an ongoing operation to tackle drug dealers.
Officers from Birmingham along with the Serious and Organised Crime Unit searched houses and businesses across Rowley Regis, Bordesley Green and Kitts Green as part of the long-standing operation to tackle the importation and supply of drugs.
A 23-year-old man was arrested from Latelow Road, a 33-year-old from Belchers Lane and a 38-year-old from Perry Park Road all on suspicion of conspiracy to import drugs.
Detectives have recovered a number of items including a quantity of cash from addresses on Perry Park Road, Belchers Road and Latelow Road.
A petrol station on Washwood Heath Road and a car dealership on Liverpool Street in Digbeth were also searched.
Superintendent Alison Telford, the Operations and Crime Manager for Birmingham East, said: “Today’s action is a result of months of painstaking work by officers and part of the ongoing operation code-named Operation No Deal which targets drug criminality.
“This includes targeting people who unlawfully import and supply of large amounts of Class A drugs.
“My message is clear, the community do not want drug dealing in their area and we will do everything within our power to target people who are involved in this type of crime.
“Drugs can have a huge impact on our local communities and residents are affected not only by the drug dealing and use itself but also by the associated disorder and anti-social behaviour that often occurs.”
