Moseley village in Birmingham saw a new edition to its rustic offerings, as well as some popular local restaurants, there is now a boutique which offers something from south Asian right on your doorstep. LaVelle is a bespoke couture house opened by a three way partnership two sisters and a husband. Saba and Farah Hussain and Farah’s husband, have a passion for fashion and wanted to illustrate this through their own outlet. Saba told the Asian World: “Myself and my sister always go to Pakistan fashion week, and we travel to Pakistan for fashion, and even though we have not been there but we love Indian fashion too. We saw a niche in the market for bridal and party- wear. Saba went on to say: “We are stockiest of designers, we put the concept together and we want to make it work.”

LaVelle have both bespoke and pret-a-porter prices and will have days where customers can come by appointment only to give each client that time and space required to build her party or bridal outfits.

Saba told the Asian World each outfit can be bespoke and have more less embroidery and on any colour or cut.

Mona Vora is the headline designer being showcased at LaVelle and attended the launch, she spoke to the Asian World about her clothing range and told us why she has become such a household recognised name.

Mona Vora told the Asian World she has been in the fashion business for eighteen years: “I got my degree in business management but I come from a very creative background.” Mona said she started off in fashion wear and without realising she got into bridal wear.

The price of Mona Vora can range from hundreds to thousands.

“A bespoke outfit can take up to six months as it is hand embroidered and bespoke,” Mona told us.

She has designed outfits for Jordanian princess, celebrities and presidents daughters but she treats all of her clients with the same high standard of service, she said “each and every client of mine are high profile.”

The boutique has set some very high standards in the south Asian bridal market, both Saba and her sisters are so confident it will do well they have already set their sights on another outlet.
