Edgbaston Youth Worker wins Miss Birmingham Crown.
A Birmingham youth worker has won the title of Miss Birmingham.
Kris’ina Jagpal will represent the city in the final of the Miss England competition this summer, in hope of making it to the Miss World contest.
The 24-year-old from Edgbaston was awarded the crown in front of a large crowd at the city’s Burlington Hotel, beating competition from 30 other girls.
Speaking of her new title, she told reporters, “It means so much for me to win. I am overwhelmed and can’t believe it and I promise to makeBirminghamproud of me. I enjoyed the whole experience and all the girls were amazing.
“This has been a dream of mine for many years.”
In second place was 16-year-old Keisha Campion, while Sinead Willis, also 16, was placed third.
Miss Champion has also gained a place in the Miss England semi-finals, giving the city a chance to have two contestants in the final.
Organiser Kate Solomons told reporters, “Kris’ina is an inspiration to everyone. She is a loving and special person who we are excited to be able to work with during her reign as Miss Birmingham.”
