Facebook News Feed gets Technicolour

Facebook

Facebook is now updating the list of words that, which triggers an animation on your status. The social network has been experimenting with these for quite a while — you’ve probably seen them on posts with the words “congratulations” or “xoxo” When posted, these words appear as a different colour and clicking on them triggers a quick animation (hearts or balloon, for example.)

The list of words that trigger these animations is growing. They now include: “rad,” “bff,” “lmao,” and “thank you so much.” All of those words will now come with their own
colours and bespoke animation effects. Facebook will make reactions ‘Life Events’ more exciting by updating the animations like engagements and weddings.

Now, when people add a reaction to a “Life event,” the reaction will fill the update with a fancy animation. The updates are the latest way Facebook are trying to get your attention to post more and engage more with posting about events with enticing users with colourful animations to spice up the News Feed.

The social network is always looking for ways to boost “original sharing” posts that are organic and actual thoughts, not just reposting of memes and viral videos.
