Understand the fundamentals of genomics and the significance it will have to nursing and healthcare now, and in the future.

See how new scientific discoveries learned from examining over 100,000 genomes may be applied to the care of patients and discover its growing importance to healthcare.

NHS England’s Chief Scientific Officer Professor Sue Hill will address the conference which will be opened by University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust’s executive Chief Nurse, Lisa Stalley-Green.

Get insights from the West Midlands Familial Hypercholesterolaemia Service and the British Heart Foundation and hear from the Regional Cystic Fibrosis nurses on the application of genomics to their field.

There will also be a look at genomics and personalised medicine’s impact on cancer care and midwifery.

The conference is free to attend for all nursing staff at UHB and Birmingham Women’s and Children’s NHS Foundation Trust. Lunch and refreshments will be provided.

A more complete schedule for the day will be available shortly. We look forward to seeing you there.
