A former Mr Universe, who is 4ft 11 inches tall, has turned 100-years-old, putting happiness as the key to his success.
Manohar Aich celebrated his birthday in the eastern city of Kolkata with his children, grand children and great-grand children.
Hindu priests chanted prayers during the feast, which was laid out to honour the winner of 1952 Mr Universe.
Mr Aich told reporters that his long life is a result of taking his troubles lightly and staying happy, even during times of difficulty that included poverty and prison.
He also said that a diet of milk, fruit, vegetables, rice, lentils and fish have helped him stay healthy.
He does not smoke and has never drunk alcohol.
He told reporters, “I never allow any sort of tension to grip me. I had to struggle to earn money since my young days, but whatever the situation, I remained happy.”
Mr Aich overcame poverty and a stint in prison to attain the bodybuilding title.
“It was in the jail that I began weight training seriously. This helped me prepare myself for the world championship,” Aich said.
