Good things come to those who wait. Not only has the industry waited for the return of prolific beat makers the Kraytwinz, but so have their loyal fan base. Neither will be disappointed with their new offering – new single ‘My World’ featuring British vocalist Jag Soul.
The single features a sample of “Tere Dar Pe” taken from the 1976 hit movie, ‘Laila Majnu’ and is a slick, understated affair with the Twinz’ signature addictive beats and hooks. The result is a sound of fusion combining Indian Bollywood with smooth R&B vocal over a hard hitting Kraytwinz beat. The percussion led style, diffused with strings, cleverly melds the two differing styles.
The Twinz describe the project, “We grew up collecting vinyl and would buy old rare collections and sampled elements when creating beats and for some reason this always just stuck and remained with us both. ‘Laila Majnu’ is such a cult classic movie and it has taken us almost a year to clear this sample for use. Not only does the track spark of nostalgia with people that know the song, it also brings new audiences a sound that they can relate to combining an old classic with smooth R&B vocals over a signature banging beat”.
The Twinz have spent the last two years working to launch a charity project that has now gone live. They have worked to set up the UK’s first free City & Guilds accredited skills centre delivering bespoke media courses. Students will benefit from learning directly from the multi award winning production duo.
“It’s important we give back to the potential new producers, artists, singers and by pooling our contacts, relationships and experience we were lucky enough to be able to bring the vision alive. Now this is up and running we can get back to what we love doing and do best, making music and delivering hits”.
