Lego is as much of a fan ofHollywoodas we are, having re-created the characters and sets of blockbusters such has Star Wars and Harry Potter.
But the toy giant now has its sights set on fantasy movie classic Lord of the Rings, especially with the Hobbit film set for release next Christmas.
As of June this year, fans will be able to build forests, mountains and battlefields and bring them to life using miniatures of their favourite elves, hobbits, dwarves, wizards and of course Gollum himself.
Jill Wilfert, vice president, licensing and entertainment for the Lego Group told reporters, “It’s particularly exciting to now be able to create sets based on the fantasy worlds and characters from The Lord of the Rings trilogy and the two films based on The Hobbit, not only because we know they will foster collectability and creative play, but also because these are two properties that our fans have been asking us to create for years.”
The website for the upcoming product has been set up for fans to keep up to date with the latest buzz of the Lego middle-earth.
