Skills Support for the Workforce, a programme designed to help small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) fill skill gaps through the provision of fully funded training, is calling for more providers to join its supply chain to maximise the training it can offer Black Country businesses.
Up to £10 million is now available for training to help SMEs in the Black Country fill skill gaps, raise productivity and boost business growth. This fully funded training is offered to business owners, leaders and their staff to provide companies with the leadership and management skills essential to achieving their business growth plans.
To expand the training offer available to SMEs the lead provider for the project, Calderdale College, is seeking to extend its supply chain of training providers. There is no closing date for this rolling opportunity but training providers are encouraged to apply early through the online tendering system, In-tend, at https://in-tendhost.co.uk/calderdale to support the programme.
“The aim is for us to build up a bank of suppliers so that we can expand our offering, and ensure the funding available goes to those businesses that need it,” explained Ebrahim Dockrat, External Funding Director of Calderdale College.
The college is looking for training providers that can start immediately, demonstrate a track record for working in the Black Country and ideally have a pipeline of employers requiring this provision. Providers should also be able to demonstrate successful delivery of similar programmes.
The project is co-financed by the European Union’s European Social Fund and the Education and Skills Funding Agency and is available for SMEs seeking non-compulsory work-based training to support their business growth plan.
