The home department will extend the work visas of NHS doctor, nurses and paramedics. The measure was announced by Home secretary Priti Patel. The visas will be extended for a year free of charge so that the doctors ,nurses and paramedics staff can focus on their duty in fighting against corona virus.
The extension applies to around 2,800 medical staff from overseas ,whose residency document expire on or before 1st October. In order to give them peace of mind to fight this deadly virus , this extension will also apply to their family members.
The extension will be automatic so that the medical staff will not be burdened with the task of paper work at a time when they are battling with the disease. The home ministry decided to automatically extend visas. So that the NHS workers do not get distracted by the visa process.
NHS workers are playing a leading role to tackle Corona virus thus we owe them a great deal of gratitude for all what they do” said by Ms. Patel.
