Article 234 of constitution: Governor rule Imposed

According to some reports, in the recent years at least 800 Hazara men, women and children have lost their lives and more than 1500 have been injured in Quetta, capital of Baluchistan in Pakistan, their crime being that they are shias. These acts of violence have been visible throughout Pakistan’s history since 1980 and are a revolving issue all around the world in different areas. A recent sectarian attack against these Hazaras, has raised great protests as more than 100 people have died in recent bomb blasts, one after another targeting the Shia sect specifically. This attack was done by Sunni Muslim militant group Lashkar-e-Jhangvi in an area dominated by Shia from the Hazara ethnic minority. Shia leaders and protestors, braving the cold, sat side by side with with bodies of loved ones for 68 hours out in the open till justice was not done by the government promising the security of the Shia minorities in Pakistan specially The Hazaras. The government has taken strict action against this injustice by sacking provincial government. The area for the mean time is being given in army control securing the people as prime minister flew to Quetta on Sunday to listen to their grievances and announced live on television that he had accepted all their demands, including the sacking of the provincial government and the suspension of its legislature. Not just that in a statement he said that “When you will awake in the morning, Governor Rule would have been imposed in Baluchistan province,”

The bodies were finally buried on Monday after the end of the protests. A large number of people were there to pay their respects at the funeral as heart breaking wails and cries could be heard from the relatives of those who died crying for their lost ones. Baluchistan has been ruled by feudal system for a long time and has gained release from it finally. Baluchistan economy is largely based upon the production of natural gas, coal and other minerals which are present in abundance and provide a reasonable solution to many problems in Pakistan such as shortage of electricity and natural resources but have been neglected for a large period of time.
