LABA’s President hosted a working lunch for Sam Simpson, the Deputy Bank of England Agent and Alastair Cunningham the Agent of the Bank of England in the East Midlands.
The lunch sponsored by Punjab National Bank in Leicester attended by board members of LABA and senior representatives of the Leicestershire Chamber of Commerce, Federation of Small Business, Lawyers and financial intermediaries.
“The Lunch” said Mr Minhas “highlighted the key challenges faced by the SME’s in accessing finance along with the additional challenges faced by many British Asian Businesses. The meeting is an important opportunity to inform the Bank of England Monetary Committee on the economic well-being of the city and the county of Leicestershire”.
Mr Alastair Cunningham said” the contribution made by the British Asian businesses in the UK is significant, particularly in Leicestershire. The luncheon is an important link to gauge the generic and specific challenges facing business in the County. The issues raised will be fed into the Bank of England Monetary and Financial Policy Committees to help inform their thinking”.
