In November of 2008 an initiative sought by the Indian Business community was to create a platform where Indian business owners could come and unveil their hidden success stories. The purpose of this organisation called British Indian Business Forum (BIBF) is to promote Indian business involvement in local communities and politics and mentor and coach upcoming businesses.
As a member of this organisation and an advocate I have brought the core principals from the BIBF and integrated them into Octavian. This year has marked a new beginning in the way Octavian is giving even more back to the local Nottingham community which has been at the heart of Octavian since the beginning. We have started a new apprenticeship programme which runs annually. The apprentices are enrolled on a programme, where they will be working towards a NVQ Level 2 Qualification and gaining experience in every department on a 3 month rotation cycle.
I would encourage every business to help and support the local community by giving young adults opportunities to gain experience and qualifications.
