With London, the capital city – it’s the perfect place to take a mini break!

No matter what time of the year it is, London is the perfect place to escape from the ‘daily grind’ and no matter what you’re looking for; London has it! Read more as our travel writer, Jenna Brown, reflects on her most recent trip to London.

I love visiting London any time of the year, but when the City is dazzling with a wide array of sparkling Christmas lights and decorations, it’s safe to say that Christmas is one of my favourite times of the year to visit London! So, this year, I decided to treat myself to a pre-Christmas getaway with the husband to get us into the festive spirit, catch up on some ‘time-out’ from everyday life, finish some last minute Christmas shopping and even make a special visit to Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park!

If you’re anything like me, deciding on which City to visit is often the easiest part… but when looking for hotels, it’s no secret that you’re spoilt for choice! After much research, we came across the Citadines apart’Hotel in South Kensington.

The Citadines Hotel

No matter whether you want to visit London for some sightseeing of London’s most famous landmarks, the theatre, visiting the attractions or (if you’re a shopaholic like me!) you’re in need of some retail therapy, then I highly recommend a stay at the Citadines apart’Hotel.

The Citadines apart’Hotel is located within the elegant neighbourhood of South Kensington; which adds a perfect amount of luxury to any weekend away. No matter where you’re heading, this apart’hotel is in a great central location with Hyde Park, Kensington Palace, the Natural History and Science Museum and the Royal Albert Hall all within a short walking distance! If you fancy branching out a little further, Citadines is well connected to the rest of London via the nearest underground station; which is a mere 5 minute walk. If you’re a shopaholic like me, you’ll also be pleased to know that Citadines borders the renowned Shopping district of Chelsea and Knightsbridge; where a visit to Harrods is a must!

Citadines South Kensington is a stylish and chic apart’hotel where you can unwind after a busy day in the hustle and bustle of London.  We stayed in a Deluxe Studio apartment, but each apartment is complete with a Kitchenette, a living and dining area, bathroom, double or twin bed, sofa bed and satellite TV, these spacious apartments come with all the amenities you’d need, and much more!

If you’re travelling from further afield and would like more time to explore everything that London has to offer, then Citadines apart’hotel is also perfect for longer stays with services such as a launderette, 24hour reception, business centre and the fitness corner!

With its great location, you’ll never be short of great places to eat when staying at the Citadines South Kensington. But rest assured, you don’t need to go far to enjoy a good breakfast! After a great night’s sleep, we ventured next door to Coco Momo’s Café Bar Kensington. Their full English breakfast is the perfect way to start any day, along with their selection of freshly pressed fruit and vegetable juices. If you’re looking for something a little different with your breakfast, I’d highly recommend the Passion Fruit & Orange Mojito – It’s alcohol free, but oh so good!! You won’t be disappointed!
