Police in Handsworth have seized what they believe could be tens of thousands of pounds worth of Class A drugs.

The search came following a warrant which and was executed in the morning of 21 January.

Officers raided the address onChurch Hill Roadat around 7:30am.

Once inside they found several bags of what is thought to be heroin and crack cocaine.

Following an extensive search of the property by a trained drugs dog, police also found £10,000 in cash which was seized.

A 36-year-old man was arrested at the address on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of a controlled drug. He was bailed this afternoon pending further enquiries.

Sergeant Lucy Bird, from Birmingham West and Central Police, said: “This is another example of how information from the community has helped us to get a substantial quantity of drugs off the streets of theWest Midlands.

“We are continually gathering intelligence about drugs activity and regularly acting on that information to arrest suspects and seize illegal substances.”
