Prominent Pakistani Pop-star Atif Aslam has been making headlines all over the world, after he interrupted one of his concerts to come to the aid of a woman being sexually harassed in the audience.

The acoustic artist was performing at a concert in the Karachi, Pakistan, when he gestured for his band to cut the music.

In a video that has been shared globally, Aslam can be seen walking to the edge of the stage gesturing toward a group of men who appear to be harassing a female member of the audience.

“Have you ever seen a girl before?” Aslam asked the men he confronted, before adding “Your mother or sister could have been here as well.”

Aslam then ordered his security to bring the woman onto the stage, saying in English, “Rescue her. Rescue her. Rescue her.”

While the crowd cheered for the singer, he reprimanded the men involved, adding: “Enjoy the concert with discipline. It will be a long show, otherwise it will [finish] soon, try to act like a human being.”

The singer’s brother and manager told NBC News: “Atif did the right thing, which any other human being would do, we don’t want this to be blown out of proportion and hope that folks continue to believe in Atif’s music.”
