2011 over so we take a look at what Bollywood has to offer in 2012…

The past year has seen many successful films get released, as well as new faces and old one’s returning to Hindi Cinema. The New Year promises to have bigger and even better films than 2011.

Earlier this year Aditya Chopra confirmed that he would begin the shooting of Dhoom 3: back in action in the beginning of January 2012. The third instalment of the Dhoom series will still have Abishek Bachchan and Udhay Chopra in the leading roles, with Amir Khan as the villain alongside Katrina Kaif. The film may be released in 3D and is looking to be on screens at the end of 2012 and early 2013.

Rakesh Roshan has also confirmed that he has begun filming the sequel to Krishh which will still star his son Hrithik Roshan as the hero, as well as Priyanka Chopra as his wife. Vivek Oberoi is due to play the villain. Hrithik will also reportedly be working alongside his father in a deputy directorial position. Fans will be awaiting the release of the sequel in the fall of 2012 and without doubt will have high expectations.

Speaking of sequels, there’s been rumours floating around that Housefull 2 will be released in June 2012. With some familiar faces from the first film, there will also be a few new faces making an appearance. The success of the first one will leave high hopes that its sequel will be just as successful.

Fans will be surprised to know that Karan Johar’s next production won’t be starring the likes of Shah Rukh Khan or Kajol. This time it will feature some newcomers to the industry and has been titled, Student of the Year. Khan and Kajol will be making cameo appearances.  Newcomers Varun Dhawan, Siddharth Malhotra and Alia Bhatt will take the lead roles in Johar’s latest romantic comedy. This will also be co-produced by Shah Rukh Khan.

These are just a few examples of what to look forward to in 2012. BothHollywoodand Bollywood look to have some promising films coming out in the New Year.
