Madhur Bhandarkar is determined to prove himself innocent in the face of accusations that he raped then model and actress Pretti Jaiin.

To begin the trial against Bhandarkar, the magistrate court has asked the Chandni Bar director to file his reply later this month.

But Bhandarkar is confident that justice will be served in his favour, as he wrote in his blog last month:

“As the lower court has issued a process against me today, 19th September, 2011, for a case which has been going on for 7 years, I would like to state here after reading the judgment that we will challenge this order in higher courts and seek justice.”

The critically acclaimed producer was filed for a big case in 2004 when Jaiin accused him of tricking her into sleeping with him.

She said Bhandarker promised her roles in his films if she slept with him.

But when he did not offer her such roles, she was convinced that the director only lied to force sex from her.

But in this blog, Bhandarkar said that Jaiin sent him a legal notice in July 2004, threatening that if he didn’t cast her as leading lady in any of his films within 48 hours, she would carry out “necessary criminal and civil legal proceedings.”

In 2005, Jaiin was arrested when she gave 70,000 rupees to underworld gangster to kill him.

The former model has spoken out about the recent charges in a statement, saying, “We had sex 16 times and Madhur made promises of giving me a lead role in his films. However, he didn’t offer me a lead role in any of his movies. At times when I refused, he raped me.”
