There are unlimited aeroplanes which are flying in the sky which take off and land each second. During maintenance landings, staff make sure to clean aircraft, but this is sometimes not possible due to time pressures. Now coming to the main point, where do these Germs come from and what do they live on? Pathogens are transported from passengers to passengers and spread even faster in a closed cabin or densely populated Airport.

The seat pockets you keep your snacks, or your other belongings may have been used by the last passenger to store dirty tissues or fingernails clippings. The tray table on which you have your food may have been utilized by the flight attendants or a parent to change baby diapers! Not only this, but the touch-screen of the in the flight-entertainment system you use could have been used by someone with unwashed hands. From these methods, germs are easily transferred from one passenger to another.

However, these reasons do not mean we can’t stop travelling through aeroplanes. There are many safety precautions we can take, some are told by my friend, Pilot Eduardo ( Instagram A/c : lalomijares ) . He said: “Every day millions of people travel around the world using aeroplanes. We are all susceptible to get infected by travelling on an aeroplane; however, there are always some actions that we can anticipate to prevent this. For example, I usually travel with hand sanitizer that can help me in cases where no hand wash is available, or maybe when I am sitting by a window and going out to the lavatory is difficult. Sometimes the other passengers like to take a nap, or they are a little oversize, you know. Lavatories on airplanes are a good place to find germs also. Try to avoid touching things you don’t need too, and always wash your hands after using it. If you need to brush your teeth, ask the flight attendants a cup of bottled water and refrain on using the water from the lavatory. That is an excellent practice as you don’t know where that water is coming from and sometimes the water systems could carry germs. Carry a light soft blanket for yourself; use the overhead air vent so that the airflow from the vent can help to get rid of the bacteria from the side passengers. Carry a napkin or tissue papers with you to clean your seat or window before sitting.

But the most important thing is to enjoy the flight, don’t let germs and bacteria affect your trip, always take your precautions. Happy landings!!

I hope now you all got an idea about how to remain safe from aeroplane germs.
