Wolverhampton police’s football team were joined by eighteen excited youngsters who proudly followed the team on to the pitch and acted as mascots in the West Midlands Police cup final.

The youngsters were from Loxdale Primary School in Bilston where local officers have been running an after school football club.

PC Pat Oliver of the Bilston East neighbourhood team and player in Wolverhampton police football team said; “The Wolverhampton police football team were playing the neighbouring police team from Walsall in the cup final and we thought it would be a great treat for the pupils of Loxdale Primary to get involved after they had dedicated so much time into their weekly football training sessions.

“The students felt very privileged to be part of the cup final and loved walking on the pitch with the plays, shaking hands with officials and acting as ball collectors”.

Wolverhampton police won 7-1.
