Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp gave support to shamed Blackburn boss, branding the abuse aimed at the Scotsman as ‘horrific.’

Kean has failed to impress throughout his tenure and Blackburn fans are calling for him to be sacked.

The Rovers slipped to the bottom of the Premier League, following a 2.1 defeat to Bolton.

However, Kean is determined not to let the ill-feeling force him out and believes that he can turn things around.

The League Mangers’ Association, including Spurs boss Harry Rednapp, have expressed their dismay over the fans’ reaction, which saw many demonstrate outside the Rovers stadium.

Rednapp told Sky Sports, “I have never seen it like that. That is horrific to stand and take that. I watched the (Bolton) game on TV. It was sad to see.

“The camera was forever going on people shouting abuse at him. I just felt sorry for him.

“He has loads of injuries. I heard people saying that the players weren’t trying or weren’t making the effort for him. That’s absolute nonsense, a load of rubbish.

“They tried for their lives. He probably has three of his four best defenders missing and you need your best players.

“If he had Ryan Nelsen and Gael Givet available, they’d be a different team.”
