“A wonderful environment of Holland Pakistan hockey friendship is prevailing.
After the match between the Flying Dutch Veterans and the Punjab veterans, it was announced that Holland would donate a synthetic hockey turf to Pakistan. The Punjab chief minister Shahbaz Sharif immediately added,” The Punjab government would build a new hockey ground where the synthetic turf to be donated by the Dutch would be laid. That ground would be named ‘Holland Punjab Hockey Ground’.” The chief minister also informed, ”The Punjab government is making new hockey grounds at every level to help raise the game’s level and that would contribute in regaining country’s lost status in hockey”. The reciprocal friendship has no end. The Dutch brought a lot of hockey gifts. These include more than 600 quality hockey sticks of distinguished brands such as Dita and Grays, about 1200 gripper shoes for playing on the synthetic turfs, 25 goal keeper kits, among others.
All these items have been given free of cost by the manufacturers for the betterment of Pakistan hockey.”
