England coach Fabio Capello believes that David Beckham will be part of the Great Britain’s Olympic football squad, although he will not be part of the Euro 2012 squad.
Fabio said that the former England captain, who currently plays for Los Angeles Galaxy in the United States, will only take part in the 2012 games.
He said: “I think he will only be involved in the Olympic Games.”
The Italian football coach dropped Beckham from the England football squad in August 2010, explaining that younger players would benefit the team.
He said: “David is a fantastic player but I think we need new players for the future.
