Amir Khan to set up British MMA league

By Ryan Paul

Former boxing world champion Amir Khan has his sights set on MMA after showing a keen interest in UFC. This league will be team based rather than individual contests and Amir Khan is glad he has his foot in the door regarding MMA.

The Bolton boxer has shown interest in Conor McGregor and expressed his intentions on fighting the Irishman. However, being as busy with boxing as talks are heating up with a possible super fight against Kell Brook he has put his UFC desires on hold.image-2

Khan is impressed with the numbers the UFC receive as he said; ‘MMA is big and it’s getting bigger. Fighters like Conor McGregor are making a lot of noise and MMA is hitting some high number on pay per view’.  Amir Khan wants to expand MMA as far as India, who have a population of 1.2 billion people and Khan believes this will be massive for the fight scene; ‘The market is massive for us we want to reach countries like India and China’ Khan went onto say.

2017 for Khan looks like a busy one with his involvement in MMA and his ambitions in the sport but also he has some serious boxing business to settle with Kell Brook after months of twitter banter and media feuds.
