One of the biggest classic car auctions in the calendar, the two-day sale takes place on the 14th and 15th of November at the NEC, Birmingham.

The highlight of the sale has to be a fabulous ‘on the button’ low mileage 1991 Jaguar XJ220, estimated at between £300,000 and £350,000.

Chassis no. 220693 was hand built by TWR Jaguar in Oxford in 1991 before being exported to Brunei by special order of the Royal Family. The car remained as part of the world renowned, royal car collection until September 2002 when it returned to the UK.

The car has now covered just 5,782 miles and is supported by MoT certificates dating back to 2002. In August 2015 it had £20,000 worth of expert work completed by probably the UK’s leading authority on XJ220s, renowned specialists Don Law Racing of Staffordshire.

A fantastic selection of celebrity owned cars are also on offer, like a 1966 Lotus Elan S2 formerly owned by legendary actor and comedian Peter Sellers, estimated at between £45,000 and £50,000. Or for boxing fans out there how about a 1973 Ferrari 365 GT4 2+2 once owned by boxing legend Henry Cooper, offered at no reserve.

A wealth of rare, low mileage and single ownership cars will also be going under the hammer. A left-hand drive 2009 Ferrari 430 Scuderia, estimated at between £180,000 and £220,000, has covered just over 400km from new and is presented in exemplary condition throughout. Supplied with its original handbooks, tool kit and car cover, it was first registered on 31st October 2009 in Switzerland. Finished in the highly desirable colour of Grigio Medio 791, the car is offered for public sale for the first time in its life.

For fast Ford fans there is a fantastic 1985 Ford Escort RS Turbo Series I, offered at no reserve. This incredible example of Ford UK history has covered only 5,568 miles from new in the hands of one registered keeper. It has never been restored or modified and is preserved in what can only be described as factory fresh condition. This Ford simply represents an unrepeatable opportunity for any Ford RS fan, collector or enthusiast.

Speaking ahead of the sale, managing director of Silverstone Auctions, Nick Whale, said: “This may well prove to be one of our biggest and best auctions of the year and it’s a pleasure to be able to offer such a fantastic collection of cars once again at the Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show.

There really is something to tempt enthusiasts of all tastes, so I would encourage visitors to the show to come and take a look at the cars in the flesh.”

For those not able to attend the sale in person it is possible to bid online, by phone or by leaving a commission bid with Silverstone Auctions before the sale begins. Viewing is available all day on Friday 13thNovember and on the morning of both sale days.
