We are delighted that Sunny & Shay and the BBC WM team have chosen Wolverhampton to celebrate the festivities! As a brand itself Barfia fits really well into the celebrations It has no animal fat and gluten free, we hope the local community will join us on the day for the Barfia experience and will get involved with Vaisakhi celebrations that Sunny & Shay will be hosting on air on BBC WM between 2pm to 4pm.’
Each year BBC WMs presenters Sunny & Shay have broadcast live from the community to celebrate Vaisakhi across the West Midlands!
Vaisakhi is one of the most important events in the Sikh calendar, celebrated on 13 April (occasionally 14 April) each year by more than 20 million Sikhs worldwide. It was on this day in 1699 that the Khalsa order was established by Guru Gobind Singh. The annual celebration’s, led by a Sikh community group, takes place around the UK later in the month.
