The Olympic torch will be carried on a canal boat and tram when it passes through the Black Country and Birmingham.

It will arrive in Bloxwich in Walsall on Saturday 30th June next year and will travel through Wolverhampton, Dudley and Sandwell.

The flame finally arrive in Birmingham, where there will be a celebration to mark it’s arrival.

Other towns that the torch will travel through include Bloxwich, Leamore, Birchells, Walsall and Willenhall.

Councillor Les Jones, chairman of the Black Country Consortium and leader of Dudley Council told reporters, “We are delighted that the Olympic flame will be passing through all four areas in the Black Country.

“I’m sure the streets of the Black Country will be lined with people as the relay makes its way to the Olympic stadium for the start of London 2012.”

The flame will leave Birmingham on Sunday, 1 July, when it will travel through Solihull and Earlswood on it’s journey to London.
