New footage showing a dramatic moment when police rushed onto a crime scene in Washwood Heath has emerged after a woman had been stabbed to death on Sunday
Afternoon.
The first two clips are taken from the scene, dozens of concerned residents had gathered
on both sides of the street as emergency service vehicles and a police cordon blocks the majority of Wright Road.
The onlooker had filmed the footage which shows the shot panning further down the road as two police cars quickly pull up by the traffic lights, which adds more chaos to the
scene, along with the huge ambulance and police presence on the scene.
Two police cars then climbed out the off the car quickly equipped themselves and then ran towards the scene and ducked under the police tape, in a bid to save the victim. The incident had taken place outside a property located on Wright Road, Washwood Heath, just before 4 pm on October 15th, 2017.
Emergency services were called but sadly nothing could be done to save the 49-year-old women. Unfortunately, she died at the scene.
One man who lived on Wright Road said: “The police have been here for a couple of hours now. There was an air ambulance and everything. I don’t know what happened exactly – there’s a lot of rumours flying around.”
Another said: “The police are around here a lot. This sort of stuff keeps happening.”
There have been reports of a 46-year-old man who was arrested yesterday on suspicion of murder after the stabbing. West Midlands Police said they were treating the stabbing as a ‘domestic incident’ and are not looking for anyone else in connection with the woman’s death.
