The Association of British Hujjaj (Pilgrims) UK (ABH); a National Hajj specific organisation working for the welfare and wellbeing of Hajj and Umrah pilgrims welcomes the new forewarning issued by Ministry of Hajj, Saudi Arabia to Hajj/Umrah service providers that they must abide by Shariah laws by providing separate accommodation for male and female Pilgrims.Â
ABH lauded the Ministry’s warning to the service providers stating that legal action will be taken against those who don’t comply with the Ministry’s rules or who provide substandard services to the Hajj/Umrah pilgrims in Makkah and Madina. It is highly regrettable that a vast majority of the Pilgrims from around the world are suffering from extreme hardship, difficulties, mental anguish, and financial exploitation at the hands of some Hajj/Umrah service providers.
ABH highly commended the strong stance taken by the Ministry of Hajj that if they discover any shortcomings in the services provided by the Hajj/Umrah companies, it will immediately refer pilgrims to other hospitality facilities.
To enforce these policies, it is vital that the Ministry of Hajj should publicize their rules and regulations to ensure that prospective Pilgrims from around the world are aware of them along with the Ministry’s contact details so that the Pilgrims can lodge their complaints in case of any difficulties.
ABH appreciates the hard work and efforts which are being made by the Custodian of the two Holy Mosques and the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to facilitate Hajj/Umrah arrangements for the Guests of Allah (SWT). However, now is the time for a strict regime and a crack down on those who are responsible for the growing culture of deception and immoral practices in the Hajj/Umrah service provider industry.
