The family of a supermodel, who fell 150 ft to her death three years ago, hope that an inquest will give them closure.
Sahar Daftary’s death will be examined over a five day hearing.
The 23 year old, who was a former Face of Asia beauty contest winner, fell from a 17 storey luxury apartment at the NV buildings in Salford Quays.
Paramedics tried to resurrect her, but she died on the spot from multiple injuries
Sahar’s ex partner Rashid Jamil, was arrested for suspicion and questioned by police, before being released on bail.
The Crown Prosecution Service said last year that he would not face criminal charges and he will now give evidence as a witness.
In a statement, the family said, “The criminal justice system has failed to explain how and why Sahar died. The family relies on the coroner to uncover the truth.”
The model married Mr Jamil a year before her death, but later learned that he was already married with two children.
