Queen Elizabeth to launch her Diamond Jubilee tour with Hindu school visit.

Her Majesty the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh Prince Philip will visit Hindu Krishna-Avanti Primary School in Edgware in Greater London on the first day of her Diamond Jubilee tour on March 29.

According to reports, the events on the occasion at this Hindu school will include the unveiling a commemorative tapestry, watching a “community spectacular” stage show including dance and music, and a photography exhibition.

Hindu statesman Rajan Zed, in a statement in Nevada (USA) today, said that Hindu community in UK and the world was honoured by the Queen’s gesture of launching her Diamond Jubilee tour with a visit to the Britain’s first state-funded Hindu school.

Rajan Zed, who is President of Universal Society of Hinduism, pointed out that it showed Queen’s inclusive approach. The UK is now a multi-faith society and the Queen visiting the Hindu school was “a step in the right direction”.

In 2010, Queen Elizabeth, who is Supreme Governor of the Church of England, acknowledged contributions of “all faiths” while inaugurating Ninth General Synod of the Church on England in Westminster (UK).

In 2009, she hosted Bollywood and Bhangra dances at Buckingham Palace in London and has already watched the Bollywood dancing during a visit to Bradford (UK) in the past.

Diamond Jubilee celebrations will mark 60 years of The Queen’s reign who came to the throne on 6 February 1952.

The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh will be visiting England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland during this year to mark her Diamond Jubilee.
