Children spending this Christmas in Birmingham’s Homeless Centres will enjoy parties and presents, thanks to staff at the city council and local city-based firms – Aviva Insurance, Brown Shipley, Business Growth Fund PLC, JLT Specialty and Turner & Townsend Infrastructure.

Birmingham City Council’s cabinet member for Neighbourhood Management & Homes, Cllr John Cotton, said: “Christmas should be a special time for children, but for various reasons, some families become homeless and will spend the festive season in a Homeless Centre.

“This is especially sad for the children who are often without toys and unable to return to their schools or see their friends and take part in Christmas celebrations.

“Thanks to the generosity of staff from local companies and the council, around 60 children will still have some festive fun with presents and parties.“
