The Rohingya Muslim minority in Myanmar (Burma) is regarded by the United Nations as one of the world’s most persecuted communities. Thousands have been killed and more than 500,000 forced to flee to neighbouring Bangladesh in the latest bloodshed which has seen their villages burned, their homes destroyed and their families torn apart.
In total, more than 1 million Rohingya refugees are in Bangladesh where they are struggling for the basics of life like food, water, shelter and medicine. With the distribution of emergency aid inside Myanmar prevented by a government crackdown, Islamic Help is concentrating its efforts on supporting tens of thousands of Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh.
We have been providing relief aid to the Rohingya community at refugee camps in and around Cox’s Bazaar for the last two years. As previously, our field office, partners and volunteers are distributing desperately need emergency supplies to help those who have fallen victim to the latest crisis.
However, we need your support to do that. Please donate to our Rohingya emergency appeal today.
