Significant changes are kept on continuing by the airline companies to save the passengers from covid19 and omicron. Companies are trying hard to maintain the hygiene at the airport as well as in the flights. So many precautionary measurements are taken with the help of advance technology to safeguard the passengers . Recently Air New Zealand used a strategy by not serving the inflight snacks and drinks on their domestic flights. The main reason is when passengers eat or drink they have to remove the mask which may be somehow dangerous for the passengers .
Leanne Geraghty, Air New Zealand’s Chief Customer & Sales officer said, “ It’s anticipated that we will soon see the omicron variant within the New Zealand community . So we are making this change now to further safeguard our customers and crew. We know customers look forward to their cookies, popcorn or bliss bites , so rather than pause food and beverage service, we have made the decision to offer our popular snacks to our customers to enjoy when they arrive at their destination.
She further added, “ Masks are one of the key ways to limit transmission so making this change will enable our customers’ masks to be kept on throughout the flight and ensure they are as safe as possible while onboard an Air New Zealand aircraft.”
This is another layer of protection for the New Zealanders to enjoy the summer season in 2022. This change is only temporary to help stop the spread of the omicron variant .
