To show its appreciation for modern-day heroes working overseas and providing for their families in Pakistan, MoneyGram launched the Hamara Hero campaign. This is the first initiative aimed at recognizing the efforts of millions of Pakistanis sending money to their loved ones back home.
“We are proud of the role MoneyGram plays in a country’s financial ecosystem by supporting financial inclusion for families and friends,” said Andrei Afanasyev, MoneyGram’s marketing leader, Middle East and South Asia. “We understand the challenges and emotional stress experienced by families that are set so far apart. To recognize their everyday efforts, we’re offering a chance to double the transaction amount,” added Afanasyev.
MoneyGram’s Hamara Hero campaign is supported by Wasim Akram, a former Pakistani cricketer, acknowledged as one of the greatest bowlers of all time. “Whether you’re a professional cricketer like me or someone who goes beyond boundaries every day by working abroad, you always find time to take care of your loved ones in your home country. That is what Hamara Hero means to me,” explained Wasim Akram, who will attend the event in Lahore to award the promotion winners on March 25, 2018.
To qualify for the promotion, customers have to receive a money transfer of any value between December 25, 2017 and March 25, 2018 at any participating MoneyGram location (full list of participating agents is available at https://cricket.moneygram.com/hamarahero). The electronic lucky draw will take place on Tuesday each week. The maximum amount of the award is limited to PKR 105,385. Terms and Conditions apply.
