Famous as Krishna land and has wide legacy, Mathura is an important place for all. Not only India even people from abroad come here for the blessing of Lord Krishna and enjoy the unique culture of Braj, but here is one thing also attract all to see the ancient art of Braj.
It is the Mathura’s museum and in the month of October 2013, sculptures of Mathura museum would exhibit in an international exhibition in Belgium. Sculptures of Braj would play vital role to make the relationship strong in both countries if these would exhibit in the exhibition.
Mathura museum is an oldest museum of city and famous for ancient sculptures. According to the source of Mathura museum, an exhibition on ‘Archaeological Importance’ would organise in October in Belgium and for it India would send sculptures from India’s selected museums for presenting India’s ancient art.
“Yes, it is right that India would send few sculptures for exhibition and in series Mathura museum is also selected. In this regard, we have send pictures of 100 sculptures of Mathura museum to the selection committee in Delhi on National level,” informed AK Pandey, Director of Mathura Museum.
Like this year, in 2007 sculptures of Mathura museum had also exhibited in an exhibition that was organised in Belgium. In that exhibition sculptures of India was appreciated by all and due it this time, sculptures of Mathura museum again in this list.’
“Only finale selection from national museum, Delhi committee would tell us that sculpture of Mathura museum would send or not. Clicking the picture of sculpture is the primary selection and Delhi committee would select around 50 or 60 sculptures from theses clicked pictures,” added AK Pandey
Talking to HT AK Pandey expressed their feelings over this decision and said, “Yes, it is a big news for Braj region that sculpture of Mathura is selected on primary level and it would also include the finale list of India’s sculpture. Through it culture relation between Belgium and Indian would be stronger and people from other city would become to know about ancient art of India.”
