the Notting Hill star became a Hindu in 2010. Many critics assumed that her role in film Eat Pray Love was what prompted the move, but the Roberts insist that her interest in the religion began before she agreed to do the film.

 

George Harrison: Singing Om

The late Beatles guitarist is one of the most famous Hindus, having converted to the religion from Christianity. The musician began his spiritual quest in his mid 20s, until his death in 2001, when he died chanting the Hare Krishan with monks.

Born Cassius Marcellus Clay, Jr, the famous boxer changed his name after joining the Nation of Islam in 1964, before converting to Sunni Islam in 1975. According to reports, he has recently been practicing Sufism. Other boxers to convert to Islam include Mike Tyson.
