Big waves are being made in the Midlands catering market as nationwide event caterer, Payal Group have just announced they will be opening a regional office in the West Midlands. This adds to their offices in Manchester and London, and cements their status as the only Asian events business covering the whole of the UK. Neil Dosanjh has been appointed as Business Development Executive and will head up the new office at the ICC from September.

At their recent soft launch Managing Director Raj Somaiya said, “We are really excited to be in the hub of the UK, especially as it sits perfectly between our Manchester and London offices.  We have committed to a five year business development growth plan for the Midlands with an investment of over half a million pounds, which will create hundreds of long term jobs for our hospitality industry. The ICC has seen our growth plan and the investment we are bringing into the Midlands and have given us a great deal of support as we make our new home in the centre of Birmingham.”

2013 began with a knock out client win for the group when they won the contract to cater for 3000 guests at  boxer Amir Khan’s UK wedding at Manchester’s Event City, the second largest exhibition space outside of London.  Other clients include families at the helm of East End Foods, Pataks and S & A Foods. Payal’s wealth of experience and expertise has paved the way for exclusive venue partnerships. The group has signed an exclusive partnership with the

International Convention Centre (ICC) and array of venues in the region including Edgbaston Cricket Ground and St John’s Hotel in Solihull.  These venues join other Payal affiliated venues including Natural History Museum in London, Blenheim Palace in Oxford and Tatton Park in Cheshire. Raj adds, “After speaking to local suppliers in our Asian wedding market there a massive need for change, competition, innovation and general drive. We recently catered for Birmingham Airport’s Air India event where we gave guests a flavour of the high standards they can expect from Payal”.

The owners of Payal, Raj and Sheetal Somaiya, have built up a reputation of delivering events for individual and corporate clients and the ICC have demonstrated a commitment to work with them long term.

General Manager of Catering at the ICC, Martin Davies, said: “We are delighted to welcome the Payal Group as one of the ICC’s approved Asian caterers.  It is fantastic to have such accessibility to a specialist Asian caterer, to enable us to broaden our offering to our clients.  We look forward to working with them on many future events.”
