Dev Anand will always be remembered for his debonair style, which saw a sophisticated blend of scarves and hats, as well as his personalised handwritten letters.

Now the mufflers, head gear and pens that made the man even more famous will be showcased at a memorial dedicated to the screen legend.

The Dev Anand memorial will be built by his son Sunil in the reconstructed Anand studio in Pali Hill in Bandra.

According to the Mumbai Mirror, the memorial will be home to many of the icon’s personal possessions, as well as many film scripts, props, posters and slides.

Sunil told the newspaper, “We are still recovering from the loss. However, we do plan to preserve all the valuable memories… everything that was close to his heart.”

The film actor also spoke of his father’s love for pens and classy accessories.

He said, “My father had a fetish for hats and pens. It was a part of his style statement. He was very fond of writing and he loved collecting pens. He had a huge collection.”

The pens that graced the late Dev Anand’s collection includedMont Blancand Parker, both the vintage classics and the latest models.

But apart from hats and pens, the superstar also had a fetish for sun glasses, jackets and watches.

He used to wear Tissot watches regularly. Those will be a part of the display in the memorial. A lot of his written work will also be a part of it. We want fans to know and understand the professional and personal Dev Anand,”

Dev’s most famous films include Baazi, Prem Pujari, Jewel Thief and Hare Rama Hare Krishna and most of the accessories and clothes he wore in his films were from his own collection.

This flawless dress sense made him a style icon across India.

The memorial will open in ten months time, keeping his spirit alive for his legions of fans.
