Clothing worn by the female Muslim community has again been in the spotlight in the mainstream media, but this time for a more positive appearance. Yada Golsharifi, fashion editor of Styles Magazine; and Tamara Al Gabbani, a fashion designer in Dubai have been at the forefront of the DKNY Summer collection 2014 which promises to provide modest attire for the Muslim woman.

6eb40eb4-afde-4fe6-9968-1235841775daThe collection includes long, flowing dresses, skirts, and jumpsuits; long-sleeved shirts, coats, and even a three-quarters-length leather jacket. The result: outfits that are effortlessly chic, fresh, and elegant, and inspirational for Muslim women looking for ways to be glam and modest at the same time.
With the use of bold prints on a monochrome colour scheme, the collection is perfectly on point with the summer trends. The maxi dresses are at the height of modesty in the Muslim world with the pastel colours sitting perfectly with the chiffon fabric used to design the dresses.

98e67660-b9b2-4785-a006-2a6cd9800b10The message that resonates throughout the collection is that you don’t need to compromise your religious values to compete for a wardrobe with a bit of panache.

Yada and Tamara both model the collection beautifully, giving the consumer a better image of how the items can be worn; modestly or otherwise. The collection is defined by hairs- at looking cosmopolitan or ostentatious. But any woman with a bit of disposable income should certainly look this way, as this collection is great for making a statement, whilst looking flawless. There really is something for everyone in this collection.
