Asian World have interviewed the long standing music producer and his side kick Shortie about why they feel passionate about helping the new generation and giving back all they have learned over the years and what new projects they are currently working on.
Tell us why you think it is important to help your community ?
For me it’s all about the community and about the youngsters because I think it’s very important because we are looked upon as role models so it’s our duty. If we didn’t have that whilst we were growing up, we wouldn’t be where we are today.
Shortie tell us about your south Asian connection and how’s it developed over the years?
The whole thing about music is that it brings people together. It doesn’t matter where you come from. Music is universal. So this connects me to south Asian music and the followers which has developed over the years.
Most of your releases hit the no.1 spot in the music charts, how do you do that?
To be honest, it’s all God’s grace for me and it’s all about experimenting which works for us so we thank God every day for that.
So what projects are you working on right now?
We are working on lots of projects at the moment, some including the Bollywood scene. There are also new singers coming on the scene. So we are just developing and expanding the team.
So you are supporting a lot of new upcoming artists aren’t you, like Kanika Kapoor?
Yes new acts are coming through because it’s important, if someone didn’t give me a chance, I wouldn’t be here, even though I worked hard and made it through myself. But, I feel the support should be there for new talent.
Dr Zeus top tip – Stay positive. Take out the positive from the negative because staying positive attracts good things in life. Also, don’t rush just take your time and be patient.
