Tasif khan is a professional boxer from northern Britain. He describes himself to have always been energetic and is determined to box his way to the top and take the world by storm.
Asian World caught up with him via his official sponsors Pro Elite Sports, for an exclusive interview, as he trained for a big fight to be aired on channel 5 soon.

When did you start boxing?
I started at 10 yrs old

Why boxing?
Coz I loved the sport, at an early age I was an energetic kid and started kick boxing and karate at 8 yrs old.
I Attended youth club with older brother at Bradford police boys, 3 days a week I played other sports such as table tennis and snooker and looked into boxing from there in.

How many years have you been professional?
5 years pro with debut at Oldham at Tara Leisure sports

Was boxing something you always wanted to take up, or did something or someone inspire you to take it up?
Older brother was inspiration, chose boxing and family supported – started as a hobby and now it’s a dream

Who’s your boxing role model?
Prince Naseem Hamid and currently Floyd Mayweather

Who discovered your talent in boxing?
Old trainer the Late Mr Alec Allan

Are your family supportive? As it can be a very dangerous sport?
They are, now understand now it’s a dream not a hobby as I’m full time professional.

Where do you see yourself in five years?
Champion – British champion

Any particular roles you desperately want to achieve in boxing?
Stay within the game, trainer, and academies

Are you worried about serious injuries that may have a devastating effect on your life?
That comes with any sport for me I’ve gone past that stage.

How often do you train?
Daily at least 6 days a week in Leeds and Sheffield

Are you looking forward to your next match?
Long overdue, can’t wait for next fight which dates are due out soon on C5 henersey promotions bill most likely in November

Any advice to young boxers aspirating to follow your footsteps one day?
Basically train hard, dedicated and give 100 %

How the relationship with pro elite is sports progressing?
Very good, great support and a solid Fan base enhancing over the pennies.

Would you encourage both male and females to enter the sport? Ladies of south Asian culture even though its not encouraged necessarily in there culture?

If a female thinks she can live the dream there is no barriers whatever age/race of size!
Personally I think it’s against Islam for instance for ladies to show their legs or wear shorts but once covered keeping fit within limits I’m definitely with it, but not going or disrespecting your religion.
