The new star studded Indian Football League has been postponed.
The announcement of the league, which took many by surprise, would have consisted of many retired and semi- retired players such as Robbie Fowler, Hernan Crespo, Italy’s World Cup winning captain Fabio Cannavaro and Robert Pires.
The tournament has been delayed due to government intervention and the former world football stars would’ve played alongside district level players.
Former Liverpool, Leeds and England striker Robbie Fowler tweeted: “Ah well… India looks like it’s cancelled, boots are clean and looking for a new place to play,” adding to the concerns that the tournament will not go ahead.
