The ‘Beast of the East’ Shak Khan slammed his way to victory in the king of the ring bout against the highly rated Austrian; Michael Kovac. Khan got a brilliant response off the local crowd and that surely helped him in conquering the Austrian and he done it well under the 30 minute time limit. Having brawled outside the ring, tussled in clinches and exchanged European uppercuts; Shak Khan said that; ‘Kovac was in awesome shape’ and the big guy proved it too.
After trying to wear Kovac down by working on his legs, Khan soon found out that Kovac had immense stamina and strength after feeling the full force of Kovac’s moves and submissions. Khan admittedly said ‘he took the wind out of me’ while continuously exchanging with the long haired brute. As time progressed the Beast of the East saw continuous opportunities as the Austrian was growing tired, he started finding a home for some big elbows and DDT’s which resulted in Khan growing in confidence and getting the crowd behind him. It was now Kovac feeling the full force of Khan’s immense strength and with one huge suplex after bellowing ‘Allah Hu Akbar’ the referee counted 1, 2, 3 and the great Shak Khan retained his title.
All the trash talk from Kovac backfired as Khan now looks ahead to his overseas wrestling tour in Pakistan where he has challenged Michael Kovac to a rematch in a team style event where Pakistan will face the wrestlers of the world.
Khan also opened his own wrestling school on the 29th January in his hometown of Blackpool. In an attempt to give back to community and get youngsters into professional wrestling, Khan has a very busy year ahead of him with his wrestling tour and his school, but his heart and determination will drive him forward and enable him to conquer his goals.
