The latest statistics released by the Home Office and Ministry of Justice shows that those involved in the Summer riots were young, poor and less educated than average.
90% of those brought before court were male, while 5% were over the age of 40.
A quarter of those convicted were juveniles aged between 10 and 17, while another quarter were aged between 18 and 20.
13% of those arrested were identified as gang members.

Two thirds needed some form of special educational need, compared to 21% of the national average.
