Adil Ray was egged while filming an episode of the hit BBC TV sitcom Citizen Khan.
In a video that has gone viral, Ray, who plays the lead character Mr Khan, was seen filming on location on Ladypool Road, Birmingham.
A group of youths quickly gathered at the site and thrust eggs at him during filming.
No one was hurt and the team quickly made an escape before the situation escalated.
During a recent interview Adil, revealed that he had received numerous death threats from those who think his show belittles Islam and perpetuates the Asian stereotypes.
When the show started Adil wrote in the Radio Times that any negative comments would be outweighed by pride that a Muslim Pakistani family was at the forefront of a BBC sitcom.
But more than 700 complaints were made by viewers who found the content to be derogatory.
